F.A.Q.

  1. How fast can it go? How fast have you gone?
  2. How many speeding tickets do you have?
  3. Just how frequently are these questions really asked, anyway?
  4. Is there a REAL Boxster FAQ? (Since this one is a bit useless right now.)
  5. What's a <fill in the blank>? (Is there a glossary of terms?)
  6. Where did those great pictures at the top of every page come from?
  7. The site looks great! Where did you get the inspiration?

  1. How fast can it go? How fast have you gone?
If I had a nickel for every time I get these questions...They always come in the pair listed. The answers: 147 mph, 120 mph. I plead the 5th.

  2. How many speeding tickets do you have?
    Zero. No kidding.

  3. Just how frequently are these questions really asked, anyway?
Well, besides #1 above, they've never actually been asked. Perhaps a better name for this page is "Questions That Might Be Flowing Through Your Mind". But, QTMBFTYM isn't quite as catchy as FAQ. (Someone please ask me a question, so I can put it here. If it's asked once, it's "frequently" enough for me!)

  4. Is there a REAL Boxster FAQ? (Since this one is a bit useless right now.)
Of course! It's the 986 Boxster FAQ

  5. What's a <fill in the blank>? (Is there a glossary of terms?)
Here are the terms that I could think of. Let me know if there are more.
    986 The Boxster's model number.
Boxster A combination of "BOXer" (the engine's horizontally-opposed cylinder design) and "roadSTER" (the open, two-seat layout).
Boxster Chop The act Boxster owners are doomed to perform to ensure proper folding of the rear window while retracting the soft top.
Porsche A two-syllable word; the family name of the founder of the Porsche company (Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG).
Waiter A troubled soul who has ordered a Boxster, but has not yet taken delivery. If you meet a waiter in person - BEWARE - waiters are often emotionally unstable. Luckily, I was a waiter for only 2 days. Others have been doomed for many months.

  6. Where did those great pictures at the top of every page come from?
Hey! I'm glad you asked! They're actual pictures that I took of my car. The background red color of the site and both pictures are untouched. That's the real Guards Red - and it's web safe! The color is FF3333.

  7. The site looks great! Where did you get the inspiration?
The site design came from the guy who does GivingCapital, which is where I worked a little over a year from 1999-2000. (I'm going to add more info about what I do for a living sometime in the future.) Charley Parker and Bob Hires designed the look and feel of GivingCapital, which I thought was cool enough to base my site on. The page layout is similar, but I did all my own graphics, navigation, etc., and built the pages from scratch.

Charley is also the mastermind behind ARGON ZARK! - An all-digital virtual comic book. It's about the most incredible thing I've ever seen on the web - or any place else, for that matter. Go take a look! He does all the graphics, all the HTML...everything from scratch. Here are a couple of his link icons (which don't do the site justice - you MUST go and look!

    Argon Zeta

Perhaps someday I'll be immortalized and included into the story. Hey Charley...hint, hint! Just don't make me one of the "The 9 or 10 Guys Who Secretly Run Everything"! Another thought: Maybe Argon will get a cool car someday...a Red Boxster maybe??
